In early June, I went to Yosemite for a week with the Szolomayer family. I had fun with the kids, tooks some great hikes, and got some great rest. We had a great time. Here's the whole bunch of us.
I really did get a serious break from work: I didn't check email for a whole week, and only checked my cellphone to find out Neva had given birth to Emma.
This year I did three new hikes I'd never done. I took the John Muir Trail down from Vernal Falls, which gave me a new view on Vernal and Nevada Falls, and I got some great pictures. Another day, Sharon, Jimmy and I hiked 7 miles (round trip) and 3,000 veritcal feet to the top of Upper Yosemite Falls. Our last day we drove up toward Glacier point and took a short hike to a great view at the top of Sentinel Dome. A 360 degree view of the whole park! Amazing!
